BarbershopChats10 CIC is a Community Interest Company dedicated to creating safe, respectful and non-judgemental spaces where men can speak openly about mental health, emotional wellbeing, loneliness, suicide awareness, addiction, compulsive behaviours and related personal challenges.
Founded by Richard Anderson, the organisation delivers seminars, awareness sessions and community discussions designed to reduce stigma, encourage earlier help-seeking behaviours and signpost individuals towards appropriate support services.
Our Leadership Team
Richard Anderson - Director - Founder
is an experienced Health and Social Care professional, educator and published author with over 35 years of experience across housing, education, mental health and social care services, including senior management and strategic leadership roles.
Throughout his career, Richard has worked extensively with vulnerable children, young people and adults across a range of professional settings, supporting individuals affected by homelessness, substance misuse, offending behaviour, emotional wellbeing difficulties and wider social disadvantage.
Richard holds a BA in Housing and Regeneration, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education, and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Housing. He is an ASIST Trainer and has completed Schema Suicide Prevention Training, giving him a strong foundation for safe, informed and sensitive facilitation of suicide prevention and mental health awareness work.

Angela Cope -Director Safeguarding Lead
Angela Cope brings extensive experience from a distinguished career within the National Health Service, including senior nursing practice and strategic leadership within an NHS Trust Executive Team.
Her appointment as Designated Safeguarding Lead ensures that safeguarding responsibilities are held independently of day-to-day programme delivery, providing robust and professional oversight across all of BarbershopChats10 CIC's activities.
Brenda Lawrence - Director GDPR, Equality and Diversity
Brenda Lawrence brings senior management experience from a career overseeing large-scale operational teams within transport services, where she held responsibility for a workforce of over 800 staff.
Her role within BarbershopChats10 CIC ensures that the organisation's practices are compliant, equitable and inclusive across all areas of delivery, with particular responsibility for GDPR compliance and equality and diversity matters.
